What is Whoosh?
Updated October 8, 2026
Whoosh collects video messages from anyone using nothing but a browser, then compiles the best ones into a single shareable reel — no app, no sign-up, no downloads for your recipients, and nothing for you to learn beyond "share a link."
The short version
You create a campaign — a themed collection page with a question or prompt — and send the link to anyone you want a video from: colleagues, candidates, customers, classmates, teammates. They tap the link, record straight from their phone or laptop camera, and submit. No app to install, no account to create.
Once submissions are in, you watch them in the Responses tab, pick the ones you want, and Whoosh compiles them into a single reel you can download or share by link. The whole loop (invite, record, review, compile, share) typically takes minutes of your actual attention, spread across however many days you leave the campaign open.
What people actually use it for
Whoosh shows up anywhere a group of people want to say something to one person, or everyone wants to be heard at once: farewell messages for a departing colleague, welcome videos for a new hire, candidate video intros for recruiters, customer testimonials, event highlight reels, birthday and retirement messages, graduation send-offs.
- HR teams: onboarding, farewells, recognition, culture
- Recruiters: candidate video intros alongside a CV
- Marketers: customer testimonials and social proof
- Event organisers: highlight reels and shout-outs
- Anyone: birthdays, retirements, graduations, get-well messages
What makes it different from "just use a shared folder"
The obvious alternative to Whoosh is asking everyone to record a clip on their own phone and drop it in a shared drive. That works for about three people. Past that, you're chasing file formats that don't match, vertical phone videos next to horizontal webcam clips, filenames with no context, and at least one person who "will send it later." Whoosh fixes the actual bottleneck: recording happens on one page with one prompt, clips land in one dashboard already labelled and ready to review, and compiling is one click instead of an evening in a video editor.
What you need to get started
Just an idea of what you want people to say, and a list of who you're inviting. Whoosh handles the recording, collection, and compiling — see Creating your first campaign to go from nothing to a live link in a few minutes.
