Creating your first campaign

Updated October 17, 2026

In short

Open your dashboard, click New campaign, pick what you're collecting and edit the headline and prompts, then send the link out. That's it — submissions start coming in as soon as people open it, with zero setup required on their end.

  1. 1

Sign in and go to your dashboard at whoosh.video/create.

  2. 2

Click New campaign. Pick who it's for and what you're collecting, or describe it in your own words and click Draft it for me. You can also start from a blank campaign.

  3. 3

Edit the words while the phone preview shows what people will see: the campaign name (only you see it), the headline under What should they say? (the question or instruction people see above the record button, e.g. "Share a favourite memory with Priya"), and up to three short prompts. The headline does more to shape the quality of what you get back than anything else.

  4. 4

If you would rather show people than tell them, turn on Show them in a short video as well. Your camera opens as soon as the campaign exists; record up to two minutes and press Use this video. It plays before their camera opens. You can skip it and record it later under Settings, Page, Instruction video.

  5. 5

Choose the maximum recording length and the orientation (Vertical, Horizontal or Either), then click Create my campaign.

  6. 6

To change the look, consent wording or notifications, open the Settings tab on the campaign. See Customizing your campaign page for details.

  7. 7

The last screen, Now send your request out, shows the three ways to reach people. Message it copies the link for WhatsApp, Slack, Teams, a Zoom chat or an email. Show it in a room or in print downloads the QR code for a slide, poster or handout, or prints a poster. Put it on a web page opens the embed code. They all open the same recording page, and the Share tab has them all afterwards.

  8. 8

Before you send it, press Record a test now to see exactly what your people will see. The test lands in Responses.

What happens after you share the link

Anyone who opens the link sees your prompt and a big record button. They record, preview their clip, and submit — the whole thing happens in their browser, so there's nothing for them to download. They can re-record as often as they like before they submit.

You'll see responses appear in the Responses tab as people record, not in a batch at the end. From there you can watch them, select the ones you want and build a reel while more are still coming in, rather than waiting for the last clip to start working.

How this compares to running it yourself

Doing this without a dedicated tool usually means a group chat thread, a shared drive folder, and one person stitching clips together in whatever editor they have — a process that commonly stretches a one-day request into a two-week project because half the group forgets, files arrive in five different formats, and nobody wants to be the one editing. A Whoosh campaign replaces all of that with one link, one dashboard, and one compile button.

One campaign, many invitees — no per-person setup

The same link works for one person or five hundred. You don't create individual invitations or accounts for each contributor; everyone uses the identical link, and Whoosh tells each submission apart automatically. This is part of why Whoosh scales from a single birthday message to a company-wide town hall without the setup effort scaling with it.
