My clip has no sound, echoes, or looks blurry
Updated October 8, 2026
No sound in the preview
Usually means the wrong microphone was selected, or the device’s system volume/mute switch is on. Check your device isn’t muted, close other apps or tabs that might be holding onto the microphone, and re-record.
Echo or tinny sound
Most often caused by recording in a large, bare room, or by a laptop’s speakers feeding back into its own microphone. Try headphones or earbuds, or move somewhere with more soft furniture to absorb the echo — see Tips for recording a great video message for more.
Blurry or low-resolution video
Usually a lighting issue, not a camera issue — most built-in cameras struggle in low light and compensate by brightening the image, which introduces blur and grain. Recording facing a light source (a window, a lamp) fixes this far more often than switching devices.
If it’s already submitted
A contributor can’t edit a clip after submitting, but a campaign creator can always ask them to record again (with Allow more than one video per person on, the same link takes a second clip) and then leave the old one out of reels or delete it. See Reviewing and moderating submissions.
